The Family Room -indoor playspace on Central Street in Evanston, very nice and clean and calm, there is a drop-in play time, but there is a fee to get in.
The Brookfield Zoo - I've heard great things about this place!
Skokie Park District Website - including links to the Exploratorium in-door play space, the pools, and programs
Lincoln Park Zoo - what a GREAT place, and its free(although parking is not)
The Chicago Children's Museum - Pretty good place, parking around there is expensive
The Kohl Children's Museum - This is a good museum, but it gets VERY crowded, also not cheep.

Wilmette Theater - Has movies, but also many live performances, including kid-friendly ones (sheck it out for adult stuff too!)
